Popped blood vessel in my eye?

This weekend I got very sick and violently vomited multiple times, I popped a blood vessel in my eye (Subconjunctival Hemorrhage). At first, it was only at the bottom of my eye, under the lower lid, barely peaking out the bottom. However, it has spread a significant amount to where it is very visibly on the right side of my eye and nearing my iris. Is this natural? Or should I get it checked out? I've had them before, but they were quite smaller than this. Would a cold compress help calm it down a little? Thank you!
