People say I am good looking but I just don't see it?

I used to think like that, to the point where I thought attention from good looking girls was suspect, I would think, 'wow, they're gorgeous, surely they could do better than me'. But what snapped me out of it was when I started looking at other blokes and I realised I thought they were all pretty ugly as well. After that I thought perhaps I wasn't so bad. I know girls have this problem a lot more than guys, some of the most beautiful women I've ever met have had serious insecurities about their looks, I think it's just down to the fact that you're not attracted to the same sex, and you can't be attracted to yourself, so you're looking at yourself objectively whilst girls are looking at you in a very different way.
